Hilda Carter Mise, 93, went home to live with her Lord on June 18, 2019 at Homeplace of Burlington. A native of Caswell County, Hilda was the wife of the late Alex Allen Mise and daughter of  Andrew Jackson (John) and Annie Lee Carter.

A member of Ebenezer Primitive Baptist Church since her youth and a retired seamstress. Because of her love for the Lord and people she blessed others with her talents and abilities through music, food, sewing, crocheting and an outreached hand of compassion.

She is survived by daughters Donna Mise Merrill (husband Jeff) and Wanda Ann Mise, grandchildren Michael Allen Barnwell (Gloria),  Alex Barnwell Cox (fiance Travis), Daniel Thomas Merrill, great-grandchildren William Allen Cox and Michael Carter Cox, sisters Hallie Allen (Husband Vernon) and Ida Montgomery (friend David), sister-in-law Nellie Mise.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, siblings:  infant brother, Harry (Hallie) Carter, Cabe (Alice) Carter, Silas (Faye) Carter, Callie (Hubert) Morris, Edna (Fred) Webster, Floyd Carter, Gracie Carter, O'Dessa (Hubert) Barts, Esther Rudd, Tommie Carter, John (“Little Billy”) Carter, Myrt (Ina) Carter. Also, brothers and sisters-in-law Matthew (Mack) Mise, Maggie Mise, Sarah & Neal Broach, Franklin (“Devie”) & Leona Mise.

The family would like to thank all the staff of Homeplace of Burlington and Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance-Caswell for all the wonderful care and attention they gave to our loved one. A special thank you to Bonnie Thompson for the exceptional consideration she extended to the family.

A service to celebrate her life will be held 2:00pm on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at Harrelson Funeral Services in Yanceyville, NC by Pastor Bryan Rainbow and Pastor Billy Allen. The burial will follow at Ebenezer Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Leasburg, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30-1:45pm prior to the service at the funeral home.

Donna, Wanda and families

Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this time of loss. Aunt Hilda was a very gracious and kind lady and will be missed by us. I have wonderful memories of her and Uncle Allen at many Sunday lunches at Grannie's.
