R. Arnold Rogers, 84, died Wednesday, November 22, 2017 peacefully  surrounded by his family. He was born May 13, 1933 in Person County NC, son of the late Royal Jackson Rogers and Carrie Crumpton Rogers; in addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Bernice Rogers, Leon Rogers, Earl Rogers, Jack Rogers, Mac Rogers; and his grandson Jake Jernigan.

After graduating from Helena High School, Mr. Rogers joined the U.S. Air Force and served as an Air Traffic Controller.  He received "top Secret" clearance and twice controlled the President's plane as it flew through his area in Greenland. Mr. Rogers  was a member of the American Legion Post #89 & VFW Post # 7613.

Mr. Rogers retired from Hick's Insurance Agency as owner/operator after over 40 years of service. He was the Director for the Caswell County Meals on Wheels. He also served on the board for Piedmont Community College and served as a former president to the Yanceyville Rotary Club. Mr. Rogers was an avid hunter and golfer; he had a special love for nature and for his farm. He was a devoted member of Prospect United Methodist Church.  Mr. Rogers loved Caswell County and served on many committees to better his community; he was always generous and more than willing to help anyone in need.

Surviving are his daughters, Rose (Jerry)  Woodall of Yanceyville, NC, Catherine (Tim) Jernigan of Sunset Beach, NC, grandsons Bruce Woodall, Jason Woodall, Trent Jernigan, great grandson Dominic Jernigan, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Marie F. Jordan of Reidsville, NC.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, November 25, 2017 at Prospect United Methodist Church by Rev. Sang Park. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. The family will receive friends after the service in the Fellowship Hall.

The family would like to extend a special and heartfelt thank you to Mr. Rogers' loving and devoted caregiver & friend, Brenda Williamson; she never left his side.
