Frank Taylor Smith, 82, went to be with his Lord and Savior and his beloved wife of nearly 58 years, Carolyn McBride Smith on Thanksgiving Day. He was born April 07, 1935 in Rockingham County, NC, son of the late Frank McGee Smith and Berlie Joyce Smith. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Herbert Smith, Billy Smith, Wayne Smith, Ronnie Smith, and Albert Ray Smith.

Mr. Smith was of the Baptist faith and was known fondly by the children of Noah's Educational Ark Preschool as Papa Taylor. Whenever possible, he would spend his time helping at the school. Only through his hard work and continued support was the school able to thrive. Mr. Smith worked in the repair shop of A.D. Swain Trucking Company and at Burton Truck lines. Along with his wife, Mr. Smith owned and operated Carolyn's Greenhouse for 28 years.

Surviving are his daughters Tammy Hamlett of Yanceyville, NC, Tara (Steve) Mansfield of Reidsville, NC; his sisters, Polly Biggs of Madison, NC, Coky Buechler of Walton Beach, FL; and his granddaughter Harley Hamlett.

Funeral Services will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 2, 2017 at Harrelson Funeral Services Chapel by Rev. Mike Kent. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to service in the Chapel and other times at the home of his daughter, Tammy Hamlett at 151 North 5th Ave. Yanceyville, NC 27379

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to Lively Stone Baptist Church 2347 Chandler Mill Rd, Pelham, NC 27311.

Tara and Tammy:

Kacey, Kaleb and I express our sympathy for the loss of your father. Please know that your family are in our prayers. We know that your hearts are heavy at this moment, but Mr. Smith is resting in the arms of the Lord. May you find comfort in knowing that he is in a better place.

As time goes on things will get better because HE tells us in his word "the is no sorrow that Heaven can't heal." You shall meet again one day. Mr. Smith will continue to watch over his children and granddaughter from above.

We love ya'll,

Althea Gwynn Williams, Kacey & Kaleb Gwynn
