DENISE MASSEY STUTTS
Denise was a wonderful woman that was loved, is missed, and will always be cherished.  She was an amazing daughter, mom, sister, wife, aunt and a friend to those who knew and loved her.  Denise had a kind heart and gentle spirit.
Denise’s story starts on March 4, 1955 when she and her twin sister Debbie were born to Aubrey and Lorraine (Jefferson) Massey of Elon (Caswell County).  They were born in Reidsville, NC at Annie Penn Hospital, Denise was two minutes older than Debbie.  After they were born, their father when asked what did you have, answered “a whole basket full”. Denise spent her childhood and grew up in Caswell County, making many lifelong friends at school and at her church, Pleasant View Assembly of God.  She graduated from Bartlett Yancey High School in 1973.
She married Danny Stutts in 1974 and moved to Charlotte, NC.  The pride and joy of her life was her son, Jonathan Bradley (Brad) Stutts.  He was a good and loyal son to his mother during her life.
Loved ones that cleared the path for Denise were her father Aubrey Lee (Buck) Massey, and both sets of grandparents.  Loved ones that remain and will miss Denise until they meet again are her husband Danny Stutts; her beloved son Brad Stutts; her mother Lorraine Jefferson Massey; her brother Melvin Massey and wife, Patricia; her twin sister Debbie Massey Rascoe and husband, Alvin and her nieces, nephew, and her great nephews.
Denise was stricken with Type 2 Diabetes in her early 50’s and had retired from UPS on disability.  In her final years, complications from Type 2 Diabetes along with frequent dialysis visits had become a way of life for her.  But God knew Denise’s heart, he knew her earthly body was broken and that she had grown weary.   On April 28, 2018, God with his sovereign wisdom, grace and compassion reached down and gently lifted her broken earthly body into his loving arms, held her, then carried her to a heavenly home to suffer no more.  Rest in Peace, Denise.  Your twin sister Debbie said to give daddy a kiss when you see him.
The family extends a special invitation for family and friends to join them “in loving memory of Denise Massey Stutts”, Saturday, May 12, 2018 at 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. at Pleasant View Assembly of God Church, 10792 Cherry Grove Road, Reidsville, NC (located in Caswell County).
