Dennis Lee Simpson, 62, of 40 Short St., Providence, died Friday, December 7, 2018 at his home.  Born in Danville, VA, he was the son of the late Carroll Bennett Simpson and Janie Lee Adkins Simpson. Mr. Simpson was an avid Carolina Panthers and Washington Redskins football fan. He had a love for fishing. But his greatest passion was for his family. He was a very loving and devoted family man.

He is survived by his wife of over 18 years, Betsy Perry Simpson of the home. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Becky Lynn Simpson (Daniel Fain) and Michelle Lea Simpson, both of Providence; one brother, Timothy Carroll Simpson and wife Twila of Chatham, VA; a cousin whom he loved like a sister, Patricia Smith of Providence; two grandchildren, Gabriell Michelle Lodge and McKenzie Lee Willard; and his special dog Mickey.  

A Memorial Service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at Harrelson Funeral Services Chapel. The family will receive friends at the Chapel prior to the service from 12:45-1:45 pm and other times at the home of his mother-in-law Linda Perry, 308 Pendleton Rd. Danville, Va.  

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Providence Fire and Rescue 6655 Old NC Hwy 86N, Providence, NC 27315.
