PROSPECT HILL

Benjamin Hardy Blalock, 86, of 816 Egypt Rd. Prospect Hill, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 12, 2019. Although his passing was sudden, he passed away peacefully, as he had just finished doing what he enjoyed the most, riding his Super A tractor. Born in Caswell County, he was the son of the late Willie James Blalock and Virginia Elizabeth Tate Blalock. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Laverne Blalock and one sister, Mary Sue Moore. Ben was a tobacco farmer, an avid Boy Scout Leader of Troop #68, and a retired firefighter of Prospect Hill Volunteer Fire Department. He was a hard worker and a good provider. He was a true family man that always put family first and would give up his needs for their wants. His grandsons were the apple of his eye and the joy of his heart.

Ben is survived by his wife of nearly sixty six years, Frances Hamlett Blalock of the home; three children, Andy Blalock of Prospect Hill, Keith Blalock of Prospect Hill, and Jennifer Satterfield and husband John Irvin Satterfield of Pelham; two sisters, Pearl Briggs and John of Burlington, and Linda Crumpton and Charles of Blanch; and two grandsons, Benjamin Graham Satterfield and Irvin Lee Satterfield, both of Pelham.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:30 PM on Saturday, September 14, 2019 at Harrelson Funeral Services Chapel by Chaplain Steve Jordan. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1PM – 2:30PM at Harrelson Funeral Services Chapel and other times at the home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Oakley, Tim Yarborough, Brian Regan, Marion Oakley, Ronnie Lunsford and Gary Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Pruitt and Kenneth Yarborough.
