Dianne Fitch Reid, 84, of 88 Hines Hatchett Rd., Yanceyville went peacefully to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Saturday, January 25, 2020. Born in Caswell County, she was the daughter of the late Russell Fitch and Marion Hatchett Fitch. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of nearly sixty years, Curtis Reid; one son, Russell Curtis Reid; sister, Jean Williams; and brother, Bill Fitch. Dianne was the community greeter and was known for her green thumb, which was evident in the beautiful flowers that she loved growing in her yard. Church was her life, she became a member at Community Baptist Church at six years old. She was a member of the choir and taught Sunday School for decades. Dianne was also a Notary Public, a Meals on Wheels volunteer, and was highly devoted to the Red Cross Blood Drive where she donated every chance she got.

Dianne is survived by her daughter Lona Walker and husband Mike of Yanceyville; sister, Polly Smith of VA; brother, David Fitch of Blanch; three granddaughters, Stacy Dee and Ian of Burlington, Stephanie Hammock and Nathan of Yanceyville, and Amanda Walker of Yanceyville; five great grandchildren, Morgan Dee, Dakota Dee, Spencer Dee, Lane Hammock, and Chloe Hammock.

A Memorial Service will be held at 3PM on Tuesday, January 28, 2020 at Community Baptist Church by Rev. Don English. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 2PM until 3PM and other times at the home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Community Baptist Church Youth, 3050 Old NC Hwy 86N, Yanceyville, NC 27379.

Lona & family so sorry to hear about Diane’s passing. I didn’t know until tonight a firmer co-worker of mine messaged me. I tried to get in touch with her after your Dad passed & couldn’t find her. She was such an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She never gave up on anything regardless of any issues she was going thur herself. I know she was a good wife to my cousin Curtis & y th hey we’re always special to us. I’m going to try to make it tomorrow. If not please know you’ll will be in my thoughts & prayers
