I just wanted to let Mike's family know how great a guy he was. Every time I went into the store for different things,  he was always so nice and helpful. He knew I liked flags so he would always show me what he had and the new ones too. You all will be in my prayers.

I left Yanceyville to join the Air Force in 1977, and Marsha and I retired in Williamsburg, Virginia to raise our family.  I left my best friend, Mike Hooper "Hoop" in 1977, but have never forgotten how it feels to have a best friend!!  His friendship influenced my life, and I'm grateful to have had a friend like Hoop.  From little league baseball, scouting/camping, hunting, fishing, beach trips, crusing riverside drive, etc., I have lost a lifetime friend, but I'm a much better person today from our friendship.  I will miss my friend, but always cherish our times together!  My thoughts and payers are with Mike's family, friends, and customers that I know will miss him too.

Mike was a good friend to all who knew him.  Those of us who went into his store always received a big greeting.  We were sad to hear of his passing.  He will be missed.
May God be with his family at this heartbreaking time.

I pastor Eastside Baptist Church in Mebane. Prior to Covid Mike attended our church services on several occasions. I had the privilege of sitting down with Mike on several occasions. He shared with me his testimony of knowing Jesus as his Saviour. It was a privilege to know him as a Brother in Christ and as a friend. He will be missed but I have the promise we will meet again.

We were saddened to hear of Mike's passing.  While we lived in Caswell County, we visited his store many times and he was always so nice and helpful.  Thoughts and prayers and may your cherished memories provide you some peace during this difficult time and always.

I was a service sales representative to Mike at his hardware store. I considered him a friend and a kind man.  I have been retired for two years and just got news of Mike’s untimely passing. I am deeply saddened to Know he is gone. My sincere best wishes to his family and to his first and only grandson, Mike was very proud of him.
